Shazam

This happens to all of us, we hear a song and we love it but have no idea about finding out what it's called, that's where Shazam comes in. All you do is open the app, press tag now, and your device will start listening to the song. In a matter of seconds, it will tell you the song name, album, genre, label and when you tagged it. It then gives you the option to buy it on iTunes, share it on Twitter or Facebook and watch it on YouTube. The app will save all of your tags for later reference. If you don't already have this app, download it now!

Spin Art

Spin Art has brought me back to when I was in Pre School and played with spin art all the time, but now there is an app for it. What you do is spin the "paper" and then choose colors. You put your finger on the spinning paper after you choose a color and it will spin the paint around. You move you finger to the inner and out parts to make bigger rings, and then you choose different colors to make some pretty cool designs. When your done, you can save your design to your photo library or clear it and make a new design. I couldn't sit down and just play this app for hours, but it is still a fun thing to do when your bored.

Rat On The Run

Rat On The Run is an app that I have been very pleased with, and is defiantly worth the $0.99. It has the classic Donut Games setup, which I really like. There are three different playing modes to choose from. Challenges, Arcade Play and Rat On A Scooter. In Challenges, you go through 25 different levels where the objective is to eat all the cheese in the level. There is no time limit or finish line, you just need to eat all the cheese while dodging obstacles like spiders that drop down and blades that are on the ground. In Arcade Play, you are doing the same thing as you would in Challenges, but it is timed and you are competing on a global score board. This is my least favorite of the three modes. Rat On A Scooter is probably my favorite of the three modes. It is a totally different game, except that you are still a rat... but now you're on a scooter. You have to jump from ledge to ledge and collect the cheese. It sounds the same but it's not. You are automatically moving and you need to decide when to jump to the next ledge. Some are small, some are large, some are curved. The more cheese you collect, the faster you are scrolling to the side. It is very challenging and very addicting.

Doodle Jump

Doodle Jump is currently one of my favorite apps. If you are familiar with the Papi Jump game, this is pretty much that but better. It is better because there are more elements than just jumping up the platforms. Some move, some break, and some will just disappear. There is also some monsters that you will need to shoot or you will die. Flying hats, jet packs, shields, springs, trampolines, jumping shoes and more also play a key part in the game. You tilt your device from left to right while in portrait view, making your character jump from platform to platform. There is a high score system, where you compete with yourself, your facebook friends and the global scoring system. An option to set your game to "snow mode" is also available. I highly suggest this app for some simple, addicting, fun.

Levers

Levers is a very unique app by Vectorpark. The concept is to keep your mobile balance. Every time you keep it balanced for a certain amount of time, something else will drop into the water and you will have to balance it by hanging it up. There is also some random elements. For example, when the birdhouse drops and is balanced, birds will fly out and make it unbalanced. It's a hard game to explain so I suggest you download it today.

Cube Runner

Cube Runner. This is a very old app but I have had a lot of fun with it. What you do is tilt your device from side to side to make your arrow dodge the cubes. Pretty simple. But also very challenging. There are three different difficulties, each just making your arrow go faster than the one before. When you hit a cube, you blow up, thus making you lose. This game is similar to a game on facebook that you can get in MindJolt games, which is just a whole bunch of games like this on facebook. I highly suggest downloading this app because it's fun and it's free.
